How to guide: Liquid end replacement for Coherent 6002
A step-by-step process on how to fix the liquid end replacement for the Coherent 6002 series laser welder. Often this problem can be identified when your machine is making loud noises. For support, reach out to BD_Support@BDSales.com.

Step 1
Take the back cover off you can grab the bottom and lift up, then set it aside.

Step 2
Remove the black back handle by removing the two alen head screws
holding it in place (6mm).

Step 3
There are two 3mm allen head screws that you remove to allow the entire
water and radiator tray to slide back.

Step 4
You will need to drain all the water out of the tank. Then remove the
retaining nut holding the 90-degree elbow to the water filter and then
remove the filter. Use a siphon hose or pump to empty out the water tank,
always replace the water (when refilling) with new water once removed.

Step 5
With all the water out, you can now proceed to remove the hoses on the
liquid end. Make sure you note the orientation of the end and where the
hoses are going to as this is important to the operation of the machine.

Step 5
There are two nuts holding the pump in place, remove both and this will give
access to the pump for the replacement of the end.

Step 5
With the pump facing up and using a Philips head screwdriver, remove the 4
screws holding the liquid end on. Note the orientation of the outlet on the
liquid end as the replacement unit must be in the same position.

Step 5
Make sure on the replacement liquid end that the internal black O-ring
gasket is properly seated.

Step 5
Now insert the new liquid end assembly onto the pump and retighten the 4
screws. Screws must be hand tight only, if excessive tightening is done it will
preload the bearings with too much tension and cause them to prematurely
wear out.

Step 5
At this point you can reinstall the pump onto the holding tray and reconnect
the hoses. You can fill the tank with new water and turn the machine on to
check for leaks. You may need to bleed the system if the water will not flow,
to do this you will open the air vent valve at the back of the laser cavity.

Step 5
Once vented and flowing properly you can turn the machine off and reinstall
everything back to its proper location.
